Additional Ways to Give

The Down Syndrome Guild is completely dependent on donations, grants and fundraising to provide programs and services and meet operational costs. It is only through the generosity of many individuals, corporations and grants that the DSG is able to provide quality programs and services for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We need your help!

We hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation to the DSG. All donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Annual Fund

The Annual Giving Fund was established to help the DSG meet the increasing and changing needs of extraordinary individuals with Down syndrome. Donations fund a program such as our New Parent Visits, the Baby Buddies Program and PlaygroundDown Syndrome Specialist Training, family and community outreach and our Public Awareness Program.

Honor/Memorial

A memorial bequest or honorarium on behalf of a loved one can be a wonderful way to help support the vital programs and services provided by the Down Syndrome Guild. These gifts can be used to recognize a birthday, graduation, anniversary, special teacher or other person in your life, or the death of a loved one.

Please mail any donations to our mailing address with information about the individual on whose behalf you are donating.

Matching Gifts

A great way to increase your donation to the DSG is through your employer. Many companies offer a matching gift program to their employees, directors, employees' spouses or retirees as an added benefit. With these programs, a company will match an employee's gift to charitable and educational organizations.

If you work for a company that matches gifts, you can take that extra step to support the DSG:

  1. Contact your Human Resources Office for eligibility requirements and to obtain a Matching Gift form. (Many companies match the gifts of retirees, spouses, surviving spouses and outside directors.)

  2. Fill out the employee portion of the matching gift form completely.

  3. Mail the form to: Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan, Attn: DSG TreasurerP.O. Box 28 Royal Oak, MI 48067

Thanks for making the match!

Planned Giving

Planned gifts can be made in many ways including bequests by will, gift of life insurance, charitable trusts, gift annuities, and gifts of appreciated assets such as real estate, securities, etc.

To those friends who wish to help assure the continuation and growth of the DSG by mentioning the DSG in your will, the following general form is suggested: "I give, devise, and bequeath unto the Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan, a Michigan nonprofit organization, located P.O. Box 28, Royal Oak, MI 48067, the sum of $________ ." or "______ percent of my net estate." or "the following stocks or bonds ______________ to be used for the DSG mission."

 Gift-in-Kind

If you have a product, service, or other item that you would like to donate to the DSG, you may donate it as a Gift-in-Kind. Non-cash gift examples are design services, printing services, advertising space, food, beverages, books, etc.

A gift-in-kind to the DSG is tax deductible under state and federal laws. We will send you a gift receipt acknowledging your contribution of goods or services. You will determine the value of your gift-in-kind donation.
