NEW PARENT BREAKFAST

  • Receiving a Down syndrome diagnosis can be overwhelming and isolating.    Our New Parent Breakfasts provide an opportunity for new and expectant parents to socialize with others who have also just begun raising their extraordinary child with Down syndrome.  At these breakfasts, you will discover that you are not alone and that, indeed, you are in a room full of people who are on the same emotional roller coaster that you are.
  • Along with a light brunch, these meetings feature a presentation on topics of concern for new families   All expectant parents, new parents and grandparents of children with DS under the age of two are welcome to attend.

MOM'S NIGHT OUT

Monthly Mom's Night Out events provide moms of children with Down syndrome a forum to talk with about their children's needs, school issues, health issues and, most importantly, to have a well-deserved break from the kids.

Please check out our  Calendar for details about our next outing. If you have a suggestion for a meeting location, please contact  Paulette Duggins at (248) 556-5341.

"No one understands the ups, downs and outs of raising a child with Down syndrome the way another parent of a child with Down syndrome does. It has been an invaluable support getting to know these families." - a DSG member
