Buddy Walk
The Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan is proudly hosting its 4th annual Buddy Walk at Kensington Metropark on Saturday, October 4, 2008. Registration will begin at 9am with the one mile walk starting at 10am, water and snacks provided. We welcome everyone participating to bring a picnic lunch to join us for FAMILY FUN including moon bounces, face painting, clowns, and music. Special guests will be announced later! This weekend is also the park's Fall Farm Festival if you would like to enjoy more of the park after the Buddy Walk.
Team Coordinators will help you develop your team prior to the walk to enhance your show of support for individuals with Down syndrome. Prizes will be awarded to the team raising the most amount and to the top individual earner. On-line registration will be available this summer. Be sure to stop by our Advocacy table at the Buddy Walk to meet some of our members and for answers to your questions.
We will be there RAIN OR SHINE, so be sure to dress appropriately for the fall weather. The park does not have enough picnic tables for everyone, so we encourage you to bring a picnic blanket or lightweight folding chair if needed. Unlike our Buddy Walk location in the past, Kensington Metropark is a public park and we request that you consider your child's safety at all times. Volunteers are welcome, please contact Lisa Anderson at buddywalk@dsgsemi.org to see how you can make a difference.
